What's in Ferrari Oil Filters?

Oil filters are essential components in a vehicle’s lubrication system, designed to remove dirt, metal particles, and other contaminants from the engine oil. Clean oil is crucial for reducing wear, maintaining smooth operation, and prolonging engine life. Modern oil filters typically use pleated filter media housed within a metal or composite casing. They trap harmful debris while allowing oil to flow freely, ensuring that lubricated engine components remain protected. Different types exist, such as spin-on filters, cartridge filters, and high-performance racing variants.

Where it is located in the car? How should it be properly maintained?

Oil filters are mounted directly onto the engine block or within a dedicated housing in the engine bay. They are placed for easy access during oil changes. Maintenance involves replacing the oil filter at every oil change, typically every 5,000–10,000 km or as per the vehicle’s manual. Neglecting replacement can lead to clogging, restricted oil flow, and severe engine damage. When changing, ensure the gasket is positioned correctly, and always use the correct specification filter.
